Behind the scenes

Education & Career

Academically educated at Bournemouth University I have built up over 15 years worth of career experience in marketing, strategy and business development. In this time I have worked with a diversity of industry sectors including, sports, travel and tourism, education and employability, disability services, manufacturing, technology, health, wellbeing and holistic therapies.

Globe Trotting: Travel and Work

In my work I have been incredibly fortunate to have worked with organisations across the world including, locations in Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia and it is this aspect that allows me to bring a diversity and cultural understanding and appreciation to new projects.
Projects I have worked on have given me unforgettable office locations to work from. From Italian offices, with the backdrop of Mount Vesuvius, where I mentored start up businesses, to sandy white stretches of K’gari, QLD, marketing with client K’gari Fraser Island Adventures, to re-launching the paddle boarding brand SHARK SUPs at Paddle Expo in Germany 2019. And although we have all had to stay closer to home in the past couple of years I am grateful to work closely with Cornwall based, SUP brand, with global influence, SUPboarder Magazine, whilst still maintaining connections with clients throughout the UK and world.

Young People’s Skills

I am also incredibly passionate to support young peoples’ skills and career development and spend time working with schools and organisations to bring dynamic workshops to life that help individuals to think outside the box away from traditional careers education programs. I have also been fortunate enough to deliver and run two volunteering projects in Malawi where I worked alongside teams to develop careers education in schools and build a science and IT centre at Rainbow Hope Secondary School in the Mangochi District.

Personal Evolution & BrightSky

Since commencing my own consultancy in 2017 I have been increasingly aware of the important need for each of us to look after and nurture our own mental wellness in conjunction with our roles in the workplace. This interest took me to discovering the BrightSky Community, a network and personal wellbeing development community delivering collaborative and participatory event opportunities to healing practitioners and professionals in business. With a vision to operate a global and supported community of people I have since taken up a partner role within the BrightSky Community delivering strategic marketing support to the brand and workshops to members.

Co-Director at The Pet Carpenter

Most recently I have undertaken a Director’s role with The Pet Carpenter. Born to provide safe spaces for our pets that compliment our homes The Pet Carpenter is a small Dartmoor based business with a big brand and big dreams.

Outside of the Office

When I am not found in the office I enjoy an active outdoors lifestyle that feeds my mind, body and soul. Being based in the beautiful South West of the UK I enjoy hiking on Dartmoor and the South West Coastal Path with my sidekick, Pooch, Finn, gliding on a paddle board to explore our waterways and gain a different perspective or jumping on my new found hobby of mountain biking for a bit of thrill!
